Now is our time. Berlin Levi's Print Workshop

Wow. Innanzitutto vorrei ringraziare tantissimo il Sg. Levi Strauss che ha "generosamente" finanziato il tutto, regalandoci un sacco di birre, grigliate ma soprattutto l'opportunità di partecipare a questo workshop gratuitamente. Che figata! 

Praticamente una fabbrica di idee e creatività temporanea dove realizzare stampe su maglia, fogli, borse e cosi' via. Il processo lo abbiamo imparato grazie alle spiegazioni di pazientissimi graphic designer ed è stato molto interessante. Bella l'atmosfera, le grigliate a metà pomeriggio, i cervelli fusi da lampi di genio, i talenti, i colori, la gente. 

Penso che non sia un caso se la prima e forse ultima edizione del workshop abbia scelto come piattaforma Berlino. E' una città che sorprende, pensi di conoscerla e scopri sempre qualcosa di nuovo, inusuale, autentico. 

Wow. First of all I want to thank Mr. Levi Strauss who generously financed everything, offered us many biers, barbecues, but mainly the opportunity to take part in this workshop for free. So cool!

Pratically a temporary factory of ideas and creativity where you could print on shirts, bags, papiers, and so on. Beautiful the atmosphere, the barbecues, the brainwaves, the talents, the colours, the people.

I think that it's really not a case if the first and maybe the last edition of the workshop was located in Berlin. It's an astounding city, you think you got it and you always find out something new and unsual, genuine.

Mauerpark

Mauerpark è il più grande Flohmarkt a Berlino che conosco. C'è ogni domenica a Prenzlauer Berg, fermata Eberswalder Strasse, praticamente dietro casa nostra. C'è un sacco di roba di tutti i tipi, più o meno cara, diciamo che non è il mercatino più economico che ci sia, è diventato molto turistico e i prezzi sono alzati. Peccato perché era uno dei miei posti preferiti qualche anno fa, da vedere comunque. Chiaramente troverete qualsiasi cosa anche da mangiare, come in ogni Flohmarkt, quello che ha in più degli altri è il karaoke, dove praticamente ognuno può scegliersi una canzone e cantare davanti a tantissima gente, i più impavidi lo fanno e si creano situazioni divertenti spesso anche romantiche con dichiarazioni e cosi via... Bello in particolare quando anche il sole si degna di partecipare.

Mauerpark is the biggest Fleamarket in Berlin that I know. It takes place every sunday in Prenzlauer Berg, ubahn Eberswalder Strasse, in practice behind our home now. There is any sort of stuff hier, more or less expensive, to say it's not really the cheapest market around, it's become a tourist place and so the prices has risen. Obviously you can find hier also everything to eat as in the other fleamerkets, but what's cool hier is that you can also sing. Yes, there is always a karaoke, you choose your song and than you sing in front of many people. It creates some funny episodes also romantic sometime, like declaration of love and so on... Cool especially when the sun decides to take part in it.

Pane&Vintage at Moritzplatz

Ci ha svegliato una bella giornata di sole e caldo oggi a Berlino, almeno fino alle 17, quando improvvisamente e fuori da ogni previsione ha cominciato a diluviare e ha continuato fino a sera. 

Chiamatelo come vi pare ma questo clima "continentale" è una vera merda. Soprattutto perché non sai mai come uscire di casa visto che il cielo cambia cosi' velocemente, anche le previsioni non ci capiscono più niente. Solitamente non esco mai senza ombrello, ma oggi il sole è riuscito a fregarmi. 

Siamo stati a Moritzplatz, nel quartiere di Neukolln ad un Flohmarkt nel bel mezzo di un giardino che più che altro dava l'idea di essere un grandissimo orto. Siamo andati a trovare Giurtz e il suo mercatino Pane&Vintage e non sono di parte quando dico che era il più bel vintage corner della giornata, lo era davvero!

We were woked up by a fantastic and hot sun this morning in Berlin, which held up till 5:00 pm when suddenly started to pour and continued up till evening. It's a very fucking weather, you never know what's going to happen because the sky changes so fast. Normally I never go out without my umbrella, but today the sun was unfaithful to me.

We went to Moritzplatz, Neukolln, for a Fleamarket which was located in a kind of big vegetable garden. Cool. There was Giurtz with her Pane&Vintage, that was surely the best vintage corner of the day!

Some Architecture in Berlin

Oggi in giro per una Berlino poco turistica meno conosciuta, alla ricerca di Carl Scheele Strasse, dove si trova il Photonic Center dell'architetto Sauerbruch Hutton. Nel girellare abbiamo scoperto un sacco di strutture interessanti, come il polo scientifico della Humboldt, una delle università di Berlino. Più o meno come la mia uni a Pisa. °_°

Today we went for a ride in a less famous part of Berlin, huntign for Carl Scheele Strasse where is located the Photonic Center of the architect Sauerbruch Hutton. Playing around we saw some interesting architectures like a Humboldt's building, one of the universities of Berlin. More or less it looks like my uni in Pisa. °_°

Il Türchischer Markt, il mercato turco di Neukölln, è il luogo perfetto dove fare scorta settimanale di frutta, verdura e stoffe a ottimi prezzi. Buone le specialità turche, ce ne sono di ogni tipo. Ogni martedi' e venerdi' dalle 11 alle 18.30. Ubahn: U8 Schönleinstrasse

The Türchischer Markt, the turkish market in Neukölln, is the perfect place where to store up any sort of vegetables, fruits and materials at a good price. Excellent the turkish specialities. Every tuesday and friday from 11.00 am to 6.30 pm. Ubahn: U8 Schönleinstrasse

Flohmarkt

Flohmarkt, ovvero mercatino delle pulci, Berlino pullula di Flohmarkt, entri con niente e esci con una valigia stracolma di roba. Non per dire, ho comprato una valigia per 5€ e dopo averla riempita di qualsiasi cosa non siamo riuscite a spenderne più di 19.
Ecco perché io adoro questa città. 


Flohmarkt, Berlin is plenty of flea markets. You go in with empty hands and you get out with a bag full of any sort of stuff! Not in joke, I really bought one bag for 5€, we filled it up and we spent just 19€. Awesome.
That's why I'm crazy about this city.
